A free Year 2 maths lesson plan on skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s, set out as a 55–60 minute run-sheet. After a Number of the Day warm-up, the teacher models jumps along a number track and students continue skip-counting patterns in guided practice, extra practice and an exit ticket, finishing with a reflection. Modelled answers are included.
Aligned to AC9M2N01 (Australian Curriculum).
Students will:
• Skip count forwards by 2s, 5s and 10s
• Recognise the counting pattern in a sequence
• Continue skip-counting patterns
