A free Year 1 maths lesson plan on making groups of ten, set out as a 55 to 60 minute run-sheet. After a Number of the Day warm-up and counting review, the teacher models bundling ten ones into one ten with counters or icy-pole sticks, then students count by tens and work out how many tens and ones are in numbers such as 12 and 14, finishing with an exit ticket.
Aligned to AC9M1N02 (Australian Curriculum).
