Design and Make - A Home for a Toy

Foundation · Technologies · Activity · $3.99 AUD

A Foundation design and technologies making activity in which children design and make a home for a toy. The class agrees design criteria first, such as fitting the toy, having a roof and standing up on its own, then children draw an idea, choose materials, make it safely and test whether it worked, including a small water test. Safety guidance and teacher notes are included.

Part of the "People Designed This" sub-unit. Aligned to AC9TDEFP01, AC9TDEFK01 (Australian Curriculum v9).

Students will:
• Draw a design idea before making
• Choose materials and make a solution safely
• Test a design against agreed criteria

A ready-to-teach activity, supplied as PDF, editable Word (DOCX) and PowerPoint (PPTX).
