A Year 1 phonics lesson plan on blending sounds to read CVC words, set out as a 55–60 minute run-sheet. The teacher reviews letter sounds and models sounding out and blending words such as cat, sun and pig, then students blend words like hat, bed and top with support, draw a picture of a word they read and finish by reading a CVC word to a partner.
